What if Your Only Accomplishment in the Day Was This?

October 17, 2015 By Erin Leyba Leave a Comment

Portrait of a happy father with his little son on vacation.

Bringing in a bit of joy.

What if you were late to drop the kids off at school, you burned breakfast, and your laundry was still unfolded, but you brought in joy nonetheless. Maybe you barely slept, but you hugged each child with an eye-to-eye smile when they stumbled downstairs, pajamas and all, with crumpled hair. You wrote a love note for the lunch you made for your kindergartener. You hummed a song while you filled the dishwasher. You sent a sweet text to your partner that he’d read on the train on his way to work. You poured yourself a cup of tea. What if you messed everything up, but you used a little joy to glue it all back together?
